Codas, Trakas Face Labor Charge Here

Theo Codas and N. J. Trakas, operators of the Capitol Cafe, are charged in a warrant signed by W. D. Holoman, of the State Department of Labor, with three violations of the State labor laws, according to records in the office of the Vance clerk of superior court. The warrant charges that on November 20, last year, Codas and Trakas employed female persons more than 48 hours a week, or more than nine hours per day, or more than six days in any period of seven consecutive days. It also sets forth that male persons were in their employ more than 55 hours or more than 12 days in any period of 14 consecutive days, or more than 10 hours in any one day. The third charge alleges that the defendants failed to keep a time book and or record giving the name and occupation of each employee, the number of hours worked by him or her each day of the week and amount of wages paid each period to each employe. The case has been set for trial on March 19 before a jury in county court. Codas and Trakas are represented by Irvine B. Watkins, it is said.
