Full Text

Paris, Nov. 9. Letters from Gibraltar (but which we should think stand in need of confirmation) import that Mr. Richard Dacres, Secretary to the Governor of that place, and a man versed in the art of pleasing the Barbarians, embarked the 15th of October for Mogador on board an English ship laden with presents valued at 25,000l. sterling, which that Secretary had orders to deliver to the King of Morocco on the part of his Britannic Majesty. And it is added, that besides these presents from England and those from Sweden, which last consist of rigging for five frigates of 30 guns each and five xebecques, the Moorish Prince will immediately receive others of great value which divers Christian powers are to send to him, and which are expected in the same port of Gibraltar.
