Full Text

The "great dailies" of San Francisco do not agree very well in their reports of the Mint Investigation. Reading the reports published in the Chronicle one is led to believe that Mr. Page is worsted on every point, while the Post makes it plain that he has sustained every charge. The reports of no paper seem impartial, though it is evident from all of them that the Commissioners appointed to investigate the Mint are greatly biased in favor of Mr. Dodge, the Superintendent: They never let slip an opportunity to snub Page and Blanchard. The public will have hard work to determine, in the end, what is proved.
