French Circles Are Disturbed Shocked at Reply of Great Britain to Note Concerning Upper Silesia.

Paris, July 21 French official circles received a distinct shock from the British government's reply to the French suggestion that allied reinforcements be sent to Upper Silesia.

In some quarters today Anglo-French relations were described as critical.

The French government is said to have been unprepared for "the severity and unyielding tone" which today's papers indicate characterizes the British communication Editorial comment suggested that Lloyd George acted too hastily in refusing to agree with the French view that additional troops are necessary in Upper Silesia. Commentors declare he failed to inform himself fully as to the situation.
