A Little Bohemian Girl at Germantown is Suddenly Stricken Blind.
A singular case is reported from Germantown, Montgomery county. A little Bohemian girl who was going to school in that place complained to her teacher Wednesday that she could not see. The teacher supposed that it was just a momentary sickness and led the girl to the window. But after standing there in the light for a long time she was still unable to see.
The teacher became alarmed and took the girl to a physician and then it was learned that she had suddenly become stricken entirely blind. Her eyes had never troubled her in the least, and the cause of the blindness could not be given by local physicians, so she was taken to Cincinnati. Even there the opticians could not explain the cause but it is supposed that the trouble is caused by a tumor in her head, and, if such is the case, it is incurable. The little girl is only twelve years old, and is the daughter of parents who are too poor to pay heavy doctor bills; consequently a purse has been made up by Germantown citizens, who wish to see the child cured if possible.
