There came near being blood on the granitoid Monday night, Nelse White, the saddle colored gentleman who flourishes at the Stephens-Foley tonsorial parlors, took Will Finks by the throat and with a glittering razor in his hand threatened to make the gore fly. William wrenched himself loose from the darky's grasp and went in search of a "cannon" which he soon found and returned with the intention of "stopping Nelse's clock." but Nelse had hid out so the engagement had to be declared off.
