Full Text

Violent in his attachments to Federal, is now a democrat. This veering politics will not do for the leader of the American.

I advise the adoption of James Monroe's electoral ticket, and hope to see it triumph at most every hard fought election on Monday.

America expects every man to do his duty.

And will perform it. Permit me to recommend to those who have not read it, an attentive perusal of the Address of the Monroe Convention. It breathes the spirit of concord and moderation to those who have read it already.

This, my friends, is no trivial concern.

I just observe. Citizens of Berkeley and Jefferson, attend to the admonition contained in the Intelligencer of last week, have your tickets written; appear at the Polls, do as your consciences tell you is correct, and merit your own approbation.

The writer of this is no office hunter or dependant; he aspires to no higher station than to rank with the defenders of his country, and with them will he be found when the dreadful appeal is made to arms.
