Our Mt. Zion correspondent, "P. O. R.," suggests in his communication in to-day's issue of the News, the organization of the physicians of the county into a County Medical Association. The suggestion strikes us as a peculiarly happy one. Such an organization would not only inure to the benefit of the physicians but of the people also. There is wisdom in the multitude of counsel. The doctors would not only aid each other materially in the matter of adopting a uniform system of fees, and from the experience of the older and more experienced arrive at some idea of how to collect them without working peculiar distress to their debtors, but by the comparison of notes of classes and cases of disease peculiar to this latitude and people, they could not fail to educate each other on matters of moment to them and their patients. There are many questions of interest in the practice of medicine that could be discussed with profit. Let allopath and homeopath and hydropath meet in common congress and temperately and intelligently discuss the several systems, and the advocates of each produce their notes of particular cases and describe in extenso their treatment and the results. It is pretty certain that among them all there will be one or more who, from their own practice, can clearly show where there was error in treatment--if error there was--and thus send the unlucky practitioner back to his people better prepared to handle a similar case. We might fill columns of our paper in suggesting wherein physicians would be benefited by an organization of the kind, but deem it unnecessary, as we consider our physicians wise enough to at a glance detect that which is to their interest and profit in the suggestion. Besides, Mr. Chairman, we arose simply to second the motion of "P. O. R.," and not to make a speech, and would suggest that you now put the question to the body of physicians of Breckenridge, Shall we have a County Medical Association?
