On Sunday last an Express arrived from the westward, by whom there is Advice that General Forbes left Ray's Town for Loyalhanning the 27th ult. That the Killed, Wounded and Missing, on our side, in the Attack at Loyalhanning, amounted to 64; the wounded chiefly mortal, and most of the Missing since found dead; the Loss of the French not exactly known, but thought to be very considerable, as one of our People, who lay on the Field all Night scalped, and his Thigh broke, said, they were a long Time in carrying off their Dead and Wounded on our Horses; That our Bullocks were all saved, but that we lost a great many Horses: And that the French made three different Attacks, in as many different Places, and behaved with great Courage and Resolution; but were as often repulsed by our Troops, who defended the Place most gallantly.
