Units In Every Town Is Aim Of Proposed Group.-Monthly Series Of Luncheons First Activity

Plans for the organization of a county-wide association of Republican women were advanced Thursday at a meeting held at the home of Mrs. Albert E. Welch of Willimantic, president of Windham County's Republican women's clubs.

A board of thirty directors was named to the organization committee of the new group at the meeting. Committee members will include those named at the meeting, a delegation from Windham County Young Republican Clubs and town delegates named by Sabin S. Russell and Jeremie LaFrance, Republican state central committeemen in the 28th and 29th districts.

First meeting of the organization committee will be held January 14 at a place which will be announced later. Officers will be nominated at the meeting and other details of permanent organization effected.

A program of activity is planned for the coming year which includes a monthly luncheon, sponsored by town units in the county. The first

Credit for organization of the
county association was attributed to
Miss Katherine Byrne of this city.

Although it will have units in all
county towns, the new county club
is not intended to conflict with existing organizations in these towns,
Miss Byrne explained at Thursday's
session.
