LOS ANGELES, Jan. 5.-Maria Bekefi, well known Russian ballet dancer, prizes her modesty in the sum of $32,100 she indicated in suit for damages filed here today.
The complaint, charging assault and battery, alleges that Lillian Albertson, theatrical producer, stripped the dancer naked in the presence of three male members of the cast of "The Desert Song."
Miss Bekefi charges that the woman producer struck her several blows and then proceeded to tear off the dancer's costume, leaving her entirely naked for approximately 10 minutes in the presence of three actors, Perry Askon, John Wagner and George Cunningham.
Miss Albertson, the complaint recites, then threatened to scratch Miss Bekefi's eyes out and exclaimed "you are a little devil; you are a tiger,'' all of which has been denied by the producer.
By reason of the alleged attack, the dancer said she had to engage medical service for "nervousness, shock and mental suffering and a severe cold caused by being compelled to stand naked."
Actual damages of $25,000 are asked, the remainder of the damages being asked for medical expenses, loss of salary and further injuries suffered in her profession.
