Veterans Administration Contracts With Chapel Hill Blue Cross for 'Home Service'

Chapel Hill, May 13-Local treatment for service-connected disabilities is available to veterans of North Carolina through the new "Home Service" medical program of the U. S. Veterans Administration.

The Hospital Saving Association, with home office in Chapel Hill, the largest Blue Cross plan in the Southeast, has been selected by the Veterans Administration to administer this program. The Hospital Saving Association is a non-profit organization sponsored by the Medical Society of the State of North Carolina and the North Carolina Hospital Association.

To obtain this home service for service-connected disability, the veteran must obtain authorization from the Regional Veterans Administration in Winston-Salem.

Local V. A. contact officers, offices of the North Carolina Veterans Commission and of the Hospital Saving Association will assist veterans in need of this service by forwarding their applications to Regional Veterans Administration.

This new service to veterans is for use where regular facilities of the Veterans Administration are unavailable.
