HOLLYWOOD, Oct 23 (U.P.)—Buster Keaton, sober-faced film comedian, had a dual reason to be heartened today.
First, he was reported recovering from a nervous collapse and, second, his pretty ex-wife was ready to "forget and forgive" all their past domestic differences.
In a tearful scene at the Sawtelle military hospital where he was denied admission to see him, Mrs. Mae Elizabeth Keaton implored attendants to let her nurse back to health the man she divorced a few weeks ago.
"I still love him," she sobbed.
She said she was ready to make up with him and that she would drop a $200,000 alienation of affections suit she has filed against Mrs. Leah Clampitt Sewell, wealthy divorcee.
"And he needn't worry about alimony payments, either," the second Mrs. Keaton said.
She left a note, containing these assurances, but it may be some days before the comedian can read it. Physicians said although he is improving he may be confined to the hospital for several months.
