DEATH'S ANGEL
My friend I will miss,
So kind and so true;
It will happen to me
And also to you.
Death will steal o'er us
By day or by night;
It makes not a choice,
Of evil or right.
It has not its choice
Of the rich and the poor:
Sometimes not expected.
Twill knock at our door.
And taking our loved ones,
It will then flit away;
We know not the hour,
We know not the day.
Some lay down this life
In the greatest of haste,
While others for years
Gradually lose in the race.
Sometimes we feel some
Have lost in the race,
While others, we feel,
Meet Christ face to face.
So let us not judge
Where others may go,
E're we may lose,
Twill then be our woe.
We should live prepared
By night and by day,
For to enter that land,
By the strait narrow way.
So let us so live,
So kind and so pure,
That when death comes,
We can feel secure.
The Bible tells me,
It also tells you
The things we should
And the things not to do.
So read it daily.
Search out the Word;
Don't try to live
By what we have heard.
