It hath been observed of old, none are so steady to find Fault with the TRUTH, as those who do not understand it - but certain it is, Wisdom is justified of her Children-- In the Boston Gazette of Sept. 21st, the public are thus advertised
TAKE NOTICE.
Last Thursday arrived in Town the true Anti-Christ, and it is expected that he will play many of his Gospel Pranks on his North end Stage, in Resemblance of a Gospel Ministerdom-- A Friend to Truth, advises all whom it may concern, (lest they may by his Seduction Doctrine be led into the same damnable Errors with himself) to read the following Parts of Scripture for themselves, and not leave it to him to expound, viz. The 21st Chapter of Luke, the second Epistle General of Peter the 2d and 3d Chapters, and the General Epistle of Jude, which will inform you from whence he came, and who sent him."
One of your Readers would propose to the Writer of the above, as he professeth himself to be a Friend to TRUTH, to tell plainly, like an honest Man, what is the Seduction Doctrine? What the damnable Errors he cautions against---And as he adviseth all whom it may concern, to read certain parts of the Scriptures for themselves, it may not be amiss to recommend to this Writer to read for himself, and without giving heed to any Expositor, to give Answer from the Scriptures only, to the following Questions --
What are Men to understand by the TRUTH?
Who is this, true Anti Christ?
What is meant by the Repentance spoken of in the 3d and 5th Verses of the 13th of Luke, -- the parable in the 6, 7, 8, and 9th Verses?
Who was the certain Man who had a Fig Tree in his Vineyard? What is meant by the Fig-Tree?
What by the Vineyard, in which it was planted?
Who was the Dresser of this Vineyard?
What is meant by the three Years in which the Owner sought Fruit, and found none?
What by the Command to cut it down?
What by the Answer returned by the Dresser.
And what may be thought the most interesting Question of the whole.--Did the Fig Tree ever bear Fruit, or was it cut down?
When we hear the Saviour of Men speaking in Parables, and saying the Words which I speak, are Spirit and Life, we cannot doubt but they contain such Instructions as the Scriptures only are calculated to give Men. And as this Writer has turned our Attention to certain parts of them, I think we have a Right to desire him to point out from some other passages the Meaning of those he refers to, each of which deserves Consideration, did Time, and this Mode of conveying our Thoughts upon the Scriptures permit. At present, should he, from the Scriptures, afford an Answer to all, or any of the above Questions, he will do well, as a Friend to Truth, and prove himself to be such, and of Consequence, the Friend of Mankind, who are all equally concerned to know what is TRUTH.

Main Argument
challenges the 'friend to truth' to define 'seduction doctrine' and 'damnable errors' plainly and answer scriptural questions about truth, the anti-christ, and the parable of the fig tree in luke 13 using scripture alone, emphasizing the need for proper biblical interpretation.
