At the Fourth Street M. E. Church, Rev. Mr. Cowles preached in the morning. Mr. C. did not take up a public collection, but announced that he would remain in the city until Wednesday, and any persons disposed to contribute to the object of his mission, could do so, by calling on him personally. Rev. Mr. Langhorne, Presiding Elder of this District, preached at night.
In the absence of the pastor, Rev. Mr. Walker, the pulpit of the Methodist Protestant Church was filled in the morning by the Rev. Mr. Jennings, and at night by Rev. Dr. Thomson.
Dr. Thomson also preached at Temperance Hall at three o'clock in the afternoon.
The other churches in the city were supplied by their regular pastors.
