RELIEF WORK STARTED NOW, DOUGLAS CITY
Improvement of Streets Began This Morning
Allotment Made

With ten thousand man-hours of relief work at 60 cents an hour allotted to Douglas to aid the unemployed, work on the city streets started this morning. According to present requirements for distribution of the money so allotted and the number of hours per week each man will be allowed to put in, the work should extend over a three-month period. This appropriation is for miscellaneous public work and the city is to have jurisdiction over the jobs.

City Marshal Charles Schramm is in charge of the men employed.
