Full Text

Among the distinguished citizens present in this city, when the remains of Col. Yell were delivered to the Washington county Committee, were the Hon. W. S. Oldham, the Hon. W. K. Sebastian, of Helena, Hon. R. W. Johnson, Col. J.S. Roane, Capt. Pike, and Capt. Hunter. Also a number of gentlemen from Little Rock, Fayetteville and other counties in the State.

We were gratified to see among those who followed the remains of Col. Yell out of town, on Friday last, a detachment of old soldiers of the last war, and would be pleased were we able to give all their names. We recognised among them, the Hon. R. C. S. Brown, Hon. Sam'l C. Roane, Capt. Wm. Russell, Messrs. Valentine Matlock, Jos. Bryant, David Matlock, Jno. G. Gray, Lewis Johnston, Whitfield Bourne, Henry H. Enlow, and Frederick Hartgrave, who formed a venerable and an interesting part of the Procession.
