Full Text

GEORGE-TOWN, June 23.

Extract of a letter from a gentleman in Philadelphia, to his friend in this place, June 16.

'The new minister of the French Republic has arrived. He brings certain information of Peace between France and Prussia, Spain, Portugal and Sardinia; and further says that negociations with the Emperor are far advanced. The French are about to adopt the Constitution of the United States, with this alteration, that, instead of a President, they are to have an Executive Council of four or five.—Their aversion to whatever has the appearance of Monarchy, may account for this change; which, I fear, will not be found, in practice, to be an amendment.'
