REV. E. P. YORPP
Rev. E. J. Yorpp, for the past two years pastor of Mt. Carmel AME Church, reported 100 percent last week at the conference and a very pleasing work for two years with this very fine congregation asked for evangelist status.
The pastor has long felt a great urge to full time preaching and because of health conditions has chosen this opportunity to enter this field.
Prior to this pastorate he has seen service in the Augusta, North Georgia and Atlanta Conferences. Some of the charges include: Summertown; Stillmore; Wadley; Acworth; Canton; Dalton; Amanda Flipper, Atlanta; Grant Chapel, East Point. St. Phillips, Griffin; Cargle Chapel, Social Circle. Pleasant Valley, and Mt. Carmel, Atlanta.
He is also a former secretary of the Atlanta Georgia Conference for six years. Other distinctions which is credited to the inspiration from the church include being a graduate level at Atlanta and New York attended Turner Theological Seminary and has done work of the graduate level at Atlanta and New Universities.
Wholehearted support is pledged to Bishop Greene and Dr. Carswell for the program of Georgia and the South Atlanta District. Aside from the ministry full time will be given to the principalship of the Atkinson County Training School. Our services are available and may be reached at Pearson, Georgia, P.O. Box 236.
Rev. Yorpp is urging all of his former members and friends to give full support to his successor, Rev. W. J. Rowe and the church program at Mt. Carmel AME Church.
