Event Details
The society held a regular weekly meeting with good attendance, including participants from outlying districts. Activities included prose readings, original and selected poems, debates, essays, and vocal and instrumental music. Highlights were an essay on 'Plant Life' by Dr. J. C. Grubbs and a debate on whether nature proves the existence of God, with M. M. Oglesby affirmative and J. L. Collins negative. Music was led by Miss E. A. Witten. Praise given to President Mr. D. Holmes and Secretary Mr. J. D. Lee.
