Dan S. Kain, of the Oregon Susitna Mining company, arrived in the city Monday evening from Alaska. He brought with him a large glass jar filled with gold nuggets which he exhibited as a sample from their mine. The jar contains over $2000 worth of gold nuggets which are just as they were found in terra firma. One of the nuggets weighs over three ounces and most of the specimens was taken from the ground at a depth of between three and four feet. The jar and contents were turned over to the company's treasurer, Jack Rogers, but he could not be induced to state in which room or in which safe he would keep it.
