KOSMOS CLUB HAS PROGRAM
ON SCIENCE AND INVENTION
Large Number of Reports Given at
Meeting, Presided Over by Mrs.
L. G. Browne.

A number of spirited reports were given at the meeting of Kosmos club held Tuesday afternoon at the courthouse under direction of the president, Mrs. L. G. Browne.

Mrs. E. A. Wheatley's committee on work reported the distribution of fruits and flowers among the soldiers of ward 5 and included the report of the Washington's birthday celebration wherein the men were presented with handkerchiefs and tiny souvenir hatchets.

Other war work activities related to contributions of marmalade and fruit juice, the bottling to be in charge of Mrs. A. L. Cother and Mrs. C. W. Shackleford.

Mrs. Buchanan, chairman of the thrift stamp committee, reported that the sale of thrift stamps had already amounted to $2,134.80.

Music for the afternoon was furnished by Mrs. C. W. K. Meacham.

Reading, "The Transferred Ghost" (F. R. Stockton). "The Billville Spirit Meeting" (F. L. Stanton)—Mrs. M. L. Blevins.

Mrs. A. A. Law will be hostess to the Kind Words Sewing circle at her home on Cherry street Thursday afternoon. Work for the Red Cross will be undertaken and all members are asked to be present.
