BLOEMFONTEIN. South Africa -- Bishop Frederick D. Jordan, formerly of Los Angeles, recently conducted the 54th session of the Orangia annual conference of the AME church in the Orange Free State of the Union of South Africa.
During the conference, Bishop Jordan paid tribute to General Superintendent Francis H. Gow for his leadership in carrying on the church program while the American churchman was barred from entering the country.
Reports of 475 conversions and 1,647 baptisms were read at the conference. Completion of three projects, valued at $5,200 and launched under Bishop I. H. Bonner, and authorization of 11 others for construction during 1955 at a cost of $11,500, were also announced.
