Russians Hope Occupation of Lemberg Will Have Far-Reaching Effect—Official Report.

London, Sept. 4.—The Russian occupation of Lemberg, the capital of Austrian Galicia, may have a far-reaching effect on the campaign in eastern Europe, apart altogether from the loss of Austrian prestige through the fall of the city. More than three-quarters of the population are Poles and the Russians anticipate that their entry to the city will contribute toward the hoped-for Polish uprising against Germany.
