534 Delaware Volunteer Fire men Enrolled for 10th Annual Course AVAILABLE TWO WEEKS
The Camden - Wyoming Fire House will be headquarters for the 10th Annual Short Course for Volunteer Firemen, which will open on Saturday, April 12th at 9 a.m.
The Short Course will continue on Sunday, April 13th and the following weekend April 19 and 20.
The Short Course is sponsored by the Educational Committee of the Delaware Volunteer Firemen's Association.
Each of the 534 firemen that have enrolled will receive 30 hours instruction in the various courses offered.
Instructors for the courses have been certified by the Vocational Department of the State Board of Education.
The first Short Course was offered to the Delaware Volunteer Firemen in 1948 with a registration of 28 members.
The enrollment for this year's course is the largest to date, and has necessitated the addition of several more instructors.

Structural Fires Chief Kurt Eisenschmidt, Riverdale Fire Department, Riverdale, Md.; William V. Jackson. Elsmere Fire Co., Elsmere. Delaware: VentilationMr. Robert J. Smith, Senior Instructor. Fire Service Extension Dept., University of Maryland, College Park, Md.; Liquid Fires - Chief John Keyes. Friendship Airport, Baltimore, Md.;Chief John Ariano, Minquas Fire Co., Newport, Delaware; Ladders-Asst. Chief Engineer John E. Jester of the Camden-Wyoming Fire Company is Chairman of the Educational Committee of the State Firemen's Association, and is also the Director of the Annual Short Course this year.
The Ladies Auxiliary of the Camden-Wyoming Company will serve the meals to those attending the school during both weekends.
