WAR MOVES.

Spain's Home Ports and Puerto Rico Will Be Touched Up.

Washington, July 6.--President McKinley and his advisers are fully bent on following up the great advantage gained over Spain in the Santiago victory by an aggressive campaign in other directions. They are hopeful that Spain may soon recognize the utter helplessness of her case and ask for peace, but they are neither talking nor seeking peace at this time. On the contrary, the remarkable success of the navy at Santiago and at Manila has inspired the army with the determination to try to divide honors in the war, and active preparations are in progress for widening the scope of our operations. An Eastern squadron, now being organized, is going to Spain's coast, and an early bombardment and invasion of Puerto Rico are to take place.
