Gaming Fight Gets Aired In Court
Hertford Men Fined.
Case Against Hotel Operators Dismissed
Hertford, June 22.—In Recorder's court this morning a gambling affray of last Saturday night, resulted in three years' probation for Harold Thatch, son of a prominent Perquimans county family, several stitches in the scalp of W. T. Brown, former county representative, small fines for eight participants in a poker game at a local hotel, and charges of operating a gambling house against the hotel's management.
A crowded courtroom, likened by one spectator to a "Superior Court Murder Trial," heard Thatch plead guilty to charges of
