Pink eye seems to be quite the fad now for pupils in the grades.
The gymnasium is being repaired this week in preparation for the basketball game with Lost Springs on Saturday, December 13, which will probably be a double header.
Morris Galbraith is back in school again after having the chicken pox.
James Merchant is also able to be in school again.
The Seniors started practicing for their Christmas play, "The Perplexing Situation," this week.
Don't forget the Junior play which will be put on in the high school auditorium Thursday, December 4th.
The high school's second team played the grade team a game of football Monday night after school. The lineup was as follows:
Second Team: Glen Shrum, right end; Melvin Peet, right tackle; Harold Saffell, right guard; James Merchant, center; Guy Milburn, left guard; Ogden Rochelle, left tackle; Claude McFarlane, left end; Addison DeCastro, quarterback; Dick Marsh, full back; Irvin Burkholder, right half back; Orville Gartrelle, left half back.
Grade Team—Lyman Hargraves, r. t.; Claude Updike, r. g.; Allen Perry, c.; Marion Rochelle, l. g.; Leon Vestal, l. t.; Charles DeCastro, l. e.; Ben Updike, q. b.; John Hewkenberger, f. b.; Charles Slaughterbeck, r. h. b.; "Bud" Porter, l. h. b.
The score ended 15 to 0 in favor of the second team. N. S. Updike was referee.
Business English is becoming more interesting to some of the Seniors, especially on Wednesday. (Speech Day).
Miss Kistler (in Junior play practice): "Oscar, please run up that curtain."
Oscar: "Say, what do you think I am, a squirrel?"
Mildred: "Does Catherine play the piano by ear?"
Clare: "She plays with her hands and feet but I don't think she has learned to play with her ears yet."
Mr. Kuns: "Virginia, I have tried my best to make you a good student, but in spite of my efforts you seem to take no interest whatever."
Virginia: "What a failure you are."
Another animal that is becoming extinct is the courtesy of the road.
