U.S. SENATOR BORAH.
The young federal senator from Idaho, Mr. Borah, leading attorney for the prosecution in the great case of the State of Idaho versus Moyer, Haywood and Pettibone, made one of the most remarkable criminal arraignments ever heard at the northwestern bar, on Friday last, when he summed up the case against Haywood, and in the doing of it has made an invaluable reputation as a brilliant pleader and lawyer of exceptional force and power. He will be heard from in the United States Senate one of these days if he shall carry to his Washington engagements the splendid and potent faculties he possesses and finds there themes and opportunities that invite them. His marvelous memory and aptitude for concentrated and consecutive thought and his superb diction will stamp him at once among the leaders in that galaxy of leaders. And if he shall cling faithfully to the cause of the people who are sending him there, the rest of the country may count itself fortunate in having another powerful champion where he is most needed.
