Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Hurley made a business and pleasure trip to Douglas Saturday.
Mrs. Francis King and son, Royal English, were in Bisbee this week to consult a physician.
T. J. Sparks, of Benson, visited at the Ewing home Saturday.
Miss Mabel Junge left Friday for her home in Zanesville, Ohio.
Mrs. T. A. English and family, of Willcox, visited relatives here this week.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Giles, of Webb, visited Mrs. George Brown Friday.
On account of the rainy weather, the play and dance which was planned by the grammar school, has been twice postponed, but was held Saturday evening.
Judge Ling, of Clifton, was an over-night guest of Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Murphy this week.
George Brown spent several days this week with his family here.
Mr. and Mrs. Willis Gardner and daughter attended the American Legion dance at Willcox Saturday evening.
Mrs. Hazel Brown, of Tombstone, spent the week-end here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Brown.
Miss Elsie Deaver was a guest at the ranch home of Mr. and Mrs. Willis Gardner Saturday and Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Stark and baby visited at the Murphy home Sunday evening, en route to their home in Webb.
E. J. Kelly stopped in Pearce Saturday, en route from Phoenix to his home at Middlemarch.
Miss Anne Dyson is visiting friends in Douglas this week.
Bobby Koch is confined to his home with measles.
Mrs. Mildred Kelly Stevens, of Los Angeles, is the house guest of Mrs. R. I. Koch this week.
Mrs. Shaw was a Pearce visitor Tuesday from her ranch home at the Stronghold.
Owing to a case of measles having developed in Pearce the trustees of the high and grammar schools deemed it advisable to close the schools this week in an effort to check the spread of the disease if possible. The schools will re-open Monday, Feb. 23.
Tom Brown was a business visitor in Willcox Tuesday.
O. C. Arnold made a business trip to Tombstone Wednesday.
Harry Christenson, of Gleeson; R. Burnett, of Webb; Mrs. E. J. Kelly, of Middlemarch; Henry Smith, Turkey creek; Sep Sheldon, ranch; Louis Hager, Douglas, were business visitors here this week.
Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Ellis and Mr. and Mrs. T. B. Ewing were in Douglas Wednesday, Mrs. Ellis receiving medical treatment.
John Gleeson and A. Y. Smith made a business trip to Cochise Wednesday.
Mr. and Mrs. Tom Brown, Miss Elsie Deaver and Harold Hildreth spent Wednesday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Giles at Webb.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Saunders and Miss Johnnie McPeters were Pearce visitors this week.
C. M. Renaud unloaded a car of stock salt this week.
Mrs. George Fleetham and Fred Fleetham visited relatives in Douglas this week.

LIGHT
Betty Geers, who has been ill for several weeks, is reported improved.
Irving Hawkins and Wesley Grantham worked Saturday on the Marshall place, and were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Grantham.
Because of the fine rains which lasted about a week, the roads have been almost impassable and water is flowing in both Ash and Turkey creeks.
Mr. and Mrs. G. E. Goodman, of Eldorado, were in the valley Saturday, going on to Douglas.
Despite the rainy weather, a free dance was held Saturday night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Cicero Kennedy. Violin and guitar music was furnished by the Kennedy brothers and refreshments were served to the following guests: Mr. and Mrs. Henry Price, Mr. and Mrs. Norris, Mr. and Mrs. Dee and their families.
F. M. Geers spent Friday and Saturday in Bisbee.
Mrs. America Holbrook and Miss Lexie Wright spent Saturday evening at the Grantham home listening to the radio.
Duane Clapp and Walter Smith have been home this week, as the Pearce high school is closed because of measles.
Mrs. Pauline Gartin and daughter were week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Geers.
Martin Gentry, of Willcox, was a business visitor in the valley Wednesday.
Mrs. America Holbrook and Miss Lexie Wright were in Pearce Monday evening.
R. L. Grantham and Joe Rice were Douglas visitors Wednesday.
Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Hulse, Mrs. Pauline Gartin and daughter, motored to Bisbee Monday.
