Full Text

A correspondent suggests the propriety of appointing a committee by the citizens, to ascertain the nature of the contagious disease at present prevailing in New-York; that if on enquiry it should be found to be the same as the pestilential yellow fever which occasioned such ravages in Philadelphia in 1793 (which from the facts contained in the publication of the health committee of that city appears to be the case) proper measures may be adopted to prevent its introduction among us.-- Our correspondent would not needlessly sound an alarm-but nothing has yet appeared in the publications from New-York which have a tendency to dissipate the apprehensions of the people.
