The Troy correspondent of N.Y. Evening Tattler gives the following account of a shocking murder.

There was a murder committed in the town of Sand Lake, in this county, a week ago last Saturday. A German having about $250 which he intended to deposit in one of the Albany banks, had been missing and for nearly a week no tidings were learned of him, and it was supposed he had been waylaid and robbed. Inquiry being made, an associate by the name of Miller, was suspected, who took the alarm and precipitately fled towards Massachusetts, and officers are now in pursuit of him. The body of the murdered man was found in the woods after diligent searching Saturday covered with dirt and leaves, with the skull fractured. It is supposed he was mortally wounded by shot from a gun, and his death then hastened by severe blows on the head, as the back of the skull was fractured, and near the body was found a large stone encrusted with blood and matted hair. The man who is supposed to have committed the murder, was to have been married this week.
