The Del-Mar-Va Council Webelos Day, held at Camp Rodney, North East, Md., drew a crowd of over two hundred persons from all over the peninsula. The day-long affair, staged primarily for the ten to eleven year old boys who will become Boy Scouts next year, was favored with ideal weather.
Registration began at ten o'clock. At noon the lads and their fathers cooked lunch together, then embarked upon a program that embraced demonstrations, competitive events, projects, a motor boat ride, and a closing campfire.
General chairman for Webelos Day was F. Racine Stafford of Newark. Assisting him were Jack Hershelman, promotion; Leighton Jackson, registration; Jack Bennett, food; William D. Whisler, aided by Alvin Howell, skipper of the Newark Sea Scout Ship, demonstrations; Robert Jacobs, competitive events; Ivor David, projects; Victor Ben, assisted by C. C. Moore, campfire; and Richard D. Groo, publicity.
Professional assistance and guidance was rendered by James O. Case, director of Central Service Area.
