CHARTER CHANGE
BEFORE ASSEMBLY

Captain Frank M. Wray and Mr. Joseph F. Moore were in Richmond this week in regard to the contemplated change in Berryville's charter which was expected to be given a hearing before the Assembly yesterday. Mr. Moore went there in behalf of the Town Council and Capt. Wray to take charge of the county's part in the measure.

A few weeks ago the Board of Supervisors requested the Legislature, through our representatives, Mr. Denny and Mr. Wright, to have Berryville's charter changed in order that the citizens of the town should pay the thirty cent general county levy, which the charter as it stood, exempted them from. We were unable to learn the outcome of the hearing for publication in this issue.
