WHEELING—The Les Belles de le Beau Brummell Club celebrated their second anniversary on Sunday, March 23, 1941 in the Beau Brummell Club rooms. A team was the featured attraction of the celebration at which 150 persons attended. The club was honored with guest from various parts of the tri-state district. All members of the Les Belles acted as hostesses and were attired in afternoon frocks with corsages of orchid sweet-peas.

The club rooms were decorated in the club colors of orchid and gold with palms and cut flowers.

The program for the tea included readings by Misses Theodora Cooper and Mildred Combs; musical selections by the Lincoln High School Girls Octet; the History of Federated Clubs by Miss Corinn Lewis and a History of the Les Belles de le Beau Brummell Club by Miss Hazel Burke.

Following the program, the president of the Beau Brummell Club, Mr. Theodore Cooper, presented the ladies with American Beauty roses as a token of their esteem. A telegram of congratulations was received from Mr. Arthur Snead, a Beau Brummell who recently left this city.

The Les Belles de le Beau Brummell Club was organized on March 23, 1939 by a group of ladies whose husbands and sweethearts are members of the Beau Brummell Club.

The organization is both social and civic. In the two year period the Les Belles have sponsored programs at the Wayman A. M. E. Macedonia Baptist, and Simpson M. E. churches. They have donated to various funds for educational and charitable purposes. They have also given several social affairs. At the present they are knitting for the Red Cross.

The Les Belles de le Beau Brummell Club have a roster of 28 members, of which the following are officers: Miss Hazel Burke, President; Mrs. Emma Jenkins, Vice-president; Miss Mildred Kent, Secretary; Mrs. Anna Massie, Assistant Secretary; Mrs. Ora Fisher, Treasurer. Chairmans of standing committees are: Mrs. Eva Peters, Program; Mrs. Marie Lane, Entertainment; Miss Billy Anderson, Publicity; Mrs. Jessie Bartlett, Ways and Means; Mrs. Lucille Chambers, Pins.
