A Union county poultry tour will be held Thursday at the farms of John Held, Chester Weaver and Paul Priday, County Agent Frank Greeneisen announced today.
"This tour has been set up so that all poultrymen and women interested in remodeling can see these houses and discuss with the owners the costs and features of each type of building," Mr. Greeneisen said.
D. D. Moyer, Extension poultry specialist of Ohio State, will accompany Union county poultrymen and other interested persons to inspect new or remodeled poultry houses which have been completed during the past year.
Stops on the tour will be as follows:
10 a. m. -- John Held farm. To reach this, turn off of Marysville-Raymond road north of railroad tracks in Peoria, go west one mile, turn south 1/2 mile. Mr. Held has just built a 20x100 ft. house for broilers.
11 a. m. - Chester Weaver farm. Turn east off of Route 4 on Infirmary rd., go to second road to north, go north 1/2 mile. Mr. Weaver has built a 30x80 ft. poultry house and 800 laying hens there at the present time.
1:30 p. m. - Paul Priday's farm, 1 1/2 miles north of Jerome on west side of road. Mr. Priday has just finished a 40x80 ft. poultry house.
It is requested that no one go inside of these poultry houses, due to sanitary reasons.
