Only White Church Members Wanted By Tourist Service

New York—The Visitors Tourist Service, 309 Fifth avenue, is conducting 9-day all-expense tours from New York to the World's Fair in Chicago for church members—but only for white church members. This organization is said to have an expense coupon booklet on the back of which is printed, "Void if issued to other than Caucasians." The tourists bureau claims to have the endorsement of the Century of Progress exposition in Chicago, the Chicago city council, the mayor of Chicago, and other bodies and personages. The discrimination was discovered by the Brooklyn branch of the N.A.A.C.P. through a white friend. The matter has been referred to the Chicago branch of the association, which has placed protests before the mayor, the city council and other bodies and which is seeking to get the alleged endorsement withdrawn.
