SPEAKING ABOUT OUR TEMPLE ALL-STARS
No one thus far has filed an official complaint against us in our selection of the Nisei all-star bowling team. To us, we believe it has terrific striking power. Every member of the squad is capable of stringing strikes up on the board. And we like that kind of a team.
We chose Tommy Namba and Pruney Tsuji from NCL championship Nagamine-Beppu Chevrolet. The two form the most fearsome four-five punch in the local pin circle. Namba started off in a miserable fashion, but alas, class tells—he came charging at the end to land in the "Big Five". Tsuji, a hard hitter, repeatedly kept Nagamine-Beppu from slipping with his final-frame strikes.
Our third and most popular choice, Kaz Yamasaki of Northwest Times, is the best leadoff man in the business. Yamasaki, whose sweeping ball was a consistent strike-earner, had a season-long habit of landing in the bowling honor roll in the metropolitan papers.
Nobi Takahashi of Fiedler's Chevrolet still retains our respect. A great competitor, Takahashi has a marvelous control over his ball. Naturally, he earns our accolade for boosting his outfit to the upper bracket of the fairly-fast Nisei Commercial.
After much pondering over several men, Art Segimoto, the free-lancing youngster who was eagerly sought by at least 3 or 4 NCL teams, became our fifth choice. Despite the fact that he has not bowled a full season and despite the fact, also, that he has entered league play cold, he has always rocked the pins in the 180's. He's a natural who is difficult to leave out.
This five should do well in any commercial loop in the city.
