YESTERDAY a joint committee was raised, to inform his Excellency the Governor, that the two Houses had completed the business before them--and to request a recess.

At one o'clock, the Secretary came, and informed the two Houses, that his Excellency the Governor had approved of 26 acts--(The heads of which he then read.--Among them, are an act for an equal distribution of the estates of intestates--An act for encouraging the manufactures, &c. of strong beer, ale, &c. &c.--An act for the relief of poor debtors--An act for determining what transactions shall be necessary to constitute the settlement of a citizen. &c. An act providing for the instruction of youth, &c. An act providing the establishment of the Attorney-General, An act for creating two new counties in the county of Lincoln, An act for repealing parts of the Impost act, And an act for repealing certain parts of the Excise acts. The rest are private bills.)

After which he said, That it was his Excellency's pleasure, with the advice of Council, that the General Court be adjourned to the second Tuesday of January next, and that they were adjourned accordingly.
