Event Details
Wm. Brosnihan, 11-year-old son of Thomas Brosnihan, was given a ride on a high-spirited horse owned by J. S. Hill at Hapgood's stable. The horse was frightened by the 10 o'clock train in Pine Meadow, dashed forward uncontrollably, threw the boy to the ground at the intersection of old and new Pine Meadow roads, and struck him with its hoofs. Dr. B. Heywood attended but could not save him. He was the seventh son in a family of eight to die.
