Recent Graduates

Mr. and Mrs. Roger Willey and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Willey and daughter, Margaret, have returned to Halifax after attending the graduation exercises at Hargrave Military Academy in Chatham, Va. Clinton Willey was among the graduates of the Class of '48. Clinton accompanied his parents home where he will spend the summer.

Mr. and Mrs. Will Pittman and daughter, Glenda, and Mrs. Laura Birdsong attended the graduation exercises at Hargrave Military Academy this week.

Sam Birdsong, son of Mrs. Laura Birdsong graduated from the academy. Sam was honored this year by being made historian of his class. He was also among the highest in scholastic averages in the graduating class. Sam accompanied the group to Halifax to spend the summer with his mother.

John Jr. Cobb, Cecil Birdsong and Bennie Parks attended the graduation exercises at Hargrave Military Academy last Monday.

Miss Ruth Gregory has returned to Halifax from W. C. U. N. C. Greensboro. Miss Gregory received her A. B. degree in Biology last week. She expects to be in Halifax until June 15 at which time she will go to Parkview Hospital, Rocky Mount, where she has accepted a position as an X-ray technician.

Bennie Parks, son of Mr. and Mrs. V. A. Parks of Halifax has returned here to spend the summer with his parents. Parks completed his freshman year's work at Mars Hill College, where he was an honor student.

Vivian Parks, another son of Mr. and Mrs. V. A. Parks has been honored at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, where he has made Phi Beta Kappa, national honorary society. Vivian, who has been studying commerce will graduate in June. He married the former Catherine Coppedage of Halifax.
