Rigaud has been completely conquered by Toussaint; and in the convention, which concluded the sanguinary war, has agreed to leave the island. Toussaint's dominion is now complete, and a better order of things is established in the southern departments. A nest of privateers which depredated on the American navigation is annihilated; and the murderous wretches who manned them, can no longer gratify their thirst for blood. The commerce of the United States will doubtless be soon extended to the whole island. Rigaud was to depart in a brig of 22 guns; and it was expected some of the American cruizers, which were numerous off Aux Cayes, would fall in with him.
