Full Text

A New York paper commenting on the distracted condition of the Democratic party in that State says: "Mr. Barnum, the celebrated showman, has shown how a happy family may be composed of dogs and rabbits, weasels, rats and doves. Animals naturally enemies to each other may be brought to live together in perfect peace. The instinct which prompts them to destroy one another may be overcome, and love implanted in its place. If this can be done with wild animals, possessed of but very limited intelligence, cannot the same thing be effected with the enlightened Democracy of New York?"
