Messrs. Holt, Cloke and Fiske are reappointments to the State Riparian Board. Mr. Farrell, who is a newspaper man, succeeds Miles Ross, who declined a reappointment. The office pays $1,500 a year and the term is for five years. The Board is bi-partisan. Messrs. Holt and Cloke being Republicans and Messrs. Fisk and Farrell Democrats.
The new Prison Board represents quite a shakeup in that body. Three of the old members-Messrs. Brown, Holcombe and Lawrence-were turned down, their places being given to Messrs. Brennan, Watson and Van Winkle. Mr. Brennan is a resident of Orange and a well known Democrat. He is a hat manufacturer. Mr. Van Winkle is a millwright and a member of the Morris County Board of Freeholders.
Mr. Watson lives at Asbury Park and was an officer of the House for several years. The Prison Board is also bi-partisan, Messrs. Carter, Stanger and Watson being Republicans and Messrs. Staples, Brennan and Van Winkle Democrats. The term is for five years at $500 a year.
Henry I. Budd is reappointed for a term of five years at $1,500 a year. He has served six years in all as State Road Commissioner, having had an ad interim appointment for one year.
Nearly all the nominations for the State Board of Education and the Board of Visitors to the Agricultural College are reappointments. They also are bi-partisan boards and no salaries are attached. All will be confirmed.
