Full Text

A San Francisco paper of a late date, under the head of "A Novel Arrangement," mentions the fact that a well-known business man who recently resided in Chicago but was compelled to remove with his family to California on account of his ill health, has conceived a plan for transacting business both in San Francisco and Chicago, as soon as the Pacific Railroad is completed. That is to say, he will be enabled to attend personally to the Chicago branch seven months in the year, and the San Francisco branch during the remaining five months. This course will insure him a climate congenial to his health all the year round, and the advantages of two vast metropolises. The time consumed in traveling between the two will average not over six days. The California paper deems the enterprise an excellent one, and thinks it might be adopted by others with an equal promise of success.
