Lincoln Youth Said At Wheel Of Death Car

Police in Gastonia said Bobbie Gene Mitchum of Lincolnton was at the wheel of a car there about 8:20 Saturday night when 73-year-old Charles W. Revels of Gastonia, a pedestrian, was struck and fatally injured.

The elderly man died in a Gastonia hospital Sunday morning.

No charges were placed against the Lincolnton man.

Funeral services for the victim will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Gastonia, with burial following in Hollywood cemetery there. He leaves his widow, two sons, two daughters, and two brothers.

There are two Bobbie Mitchums living in this county. The Bobbie D. Mitchem who works at the Tar Heel Service Station has requested that it be stated that he was not the one involved in the accident.
