ROANOKE, Va.—If you're a railroader around this sector, you must know one or more of the Cromer brothers. There are eight of them—and all are BRTers.
Seven of the Cromer boys work on the Norfolk & Western Railway; the eighth on the Pennsy.
The lone Pennsy employe is Russell B., a member of Lodge 109, Logansport, Ind., who joined the BRT June 23, 1912 and has a 30-year pin.
The N&W Cromers, all of Lodge 492, and other particulars about their BRT memberships follow: Roscoe C., first joined May 18, 1913; Harrison W., joined May 21, 1917—30-year pin; Walter H., Dec. 6, 1914—35-year emblem; Clifford B., Dec. 4, 1916—30-year pin; Samuel I., first joined BRT Dec. 23, 1917; Guy E., continuous member since Jan. 9, 1932, and Trigg M., continuous since Jan. 1, 1940.
Russell has always been in Lodge 109. Roscoe first joined 109 and later transferred to 492.
Walter joined Lodge 778, Shenandoah, Va., later transferring to 492.
