Secretary Carlisle's letter to the chairman of the Kentucky state committee his candidacy for the presidential nomination, is not as definite as it might have been, but it easily indicates a willingness on his part to accept the nomination if it is backed up with the proper degree of enthusiasm and Cleveland's consent. He is not disposed to beseech Grover for a forty day furlough and get out upon the housetops and proclaim his acceptance, and put forth a mighty effort to attain it, but will be ready and in waiting when the time comes for Grover C. to say.
