Full Text

I close my eyes
Weary with too much sun, and see
green fields
Stretched out
invitingly, see city
shade trees,
Their forest
brothers
standing in
ferns and
moss,
See water
lilies lying on their green
pads.

I think of one
day after a weary
climb
We went down on the mountain's
other side,
A gentle slope, and there we came
upon
A small, still lake, half covered with
lily pads,
Always, since then, a symbol of peace
with me.

I hear your step in the room. I open
my eyes.
You, with your
tranquil look and
quiet voice,
Are dressed in green and white like
water lilies.

Green, the color of coolness.
